• Please help, anyone. My blog’s feed is not working. It shows up the following message when I go to it :

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
    Location: http://www.vast9.com/feed/
    Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
    ^

I installed the fix rss plugin but it didn’t helped. It said to change the permission settings of wp-blog-header.php . I messed up with the chmod of wp-blog-header.php , but I was unable to change its permissions. But don’t know what happened after messing up with wp-blog-header.php that my blog dissapeared. I tried every tutorial & forum posts to get it working but nothing with success. So I restored a previously stored backup & my blog returned to appear. But the feeds are still showing the same XML Parsing Error. I had tried deleting all the blank lines from my php files, but with no success.

Anyone, please help me recover my feeds.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Tried deactivating plugins; still no success. Switched to twenty ten; again no success. Resetted the plugins folder as you told but still my feeds don’t work.
    Please help.

You have a blank line at the top of your feed. This is commonly caused by a similar leading blank line in one of your theme’s template files but could be caused by an issue in any one of a number of WordPress file. Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
