503 error when upgrading to 2.3.1 using WSFTP (3 posts)

I am using WSFTP to upload the new 2.3.1 files to my website on Godaddy.com. As I go through the files and send them from my PC to Godaddy, a lot of files error out with a 503 error and fail. Of course then it's hit or miss if I can load the site and if I CAN load it, when I go to login as admin, I get a string error.

I can't figure out how to send feedback from my dashboard as I am new at this. It's frustrating as hell not having an automated way to upgrade only what should and needs to be upgraded.

Can anyone tell me what the 503 error is, why I am getting it and what I should do about it?

I took the liberty of typing "http 503" into google for you. This seems useful:

Seems like you'd want to work with your host on this. We support WordPress, not FTP or GoDaddy :-)
