• Hi,

I’m trying to extend my theme’s options panel by “dragging in” some of the installed plugin’s setting fields.

Let’s say, I have installed a Twitter widget/plugin. The settings of this plugin allow for setting the Twitter user name and the maximum number of displayed tweets. Now, I would like to be able to include these two fields (user name and max. number), into the theme’s option panel, to allow the user to configure everything from one place.

Anybody know of a way to do this?

    Many thanks in advance!

  • It is going to be different for every plugin and will depend on how the settings field are coded as to how easy it will be.

Thanks Rich! I can imagine that but I know which plugins are installed and will be displayed so that simplifies the equation a bit. I was interested in a general line of doing this… Thoughts? Thanks!

Honestly I wouldn’t. It could mean every time a plugin is upgraded, your changes would either me over written, or incorrect.

So even copying the settings to another page isn’t a good idea.

I see… Thanks! I just want to make sure I’m not giving this up too easily 🙂
