Support » Plugin: Facebook comments counter » [Plugin: Facebook comments counter] Suggestion: Caching. Plugin is too slow

  • First of all I would like to thank you for this great plugin! I installed it into WordPress and it worked exactly as advertised.

However, the plugin seems to recalculate the number of comments on every reload. Especially for the main page with a lot of posts that means lots of Facebook requests. The plugin led to a noteable slowdown which was not tolerable, so I had to deactivate it. My suggestion is to implement some kind of caching mechanism, so that a check is only performed in certain intervals.

With an addition like that the plugin would be perfect!

great idea! but its seems like a really complicate to cache the counter without mistakes..(i can’t reach every sending.. if i were cache the number to 5 and made a comment, it sould stay 5)

if you have any idea please tell me…

    AlmogBaku, thanks for the plugin.

Could you please help me with this issue? I’m trying to get comments counts to show up, but I cannot fill in the App ID field of your plugin. It literally won’t allow me to enter anything into that field. What’s going wrong? My site is getoutandvote.info and needs to be able to display the count in the little purple bubbles.

    Thanks!
