Have a client who is using WP 2.9.2 on 1 and 1 hosting. They had a 500 internal server error which was caused by the .htaccess file. I restored the original htaccess file to it's wordpress default and now the website is not displaying properly. The code looks fine but the styles and images are not showing up....any ideas? http://www.vegasexteriors.com/
have you tried:
-deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the culprit.
-switching to the default theme for a moment by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue.

Thanks for the quick response...I just tried both of those and I am still getting no styling or any images...seems like something is blocking it? Any other ideas?
Thank you
-make sure images are not blocked by hotlink protection, contact your webserver.
- check path in Admin => Settings => Media
- make sure wp-content/upload folder is writable (try 766, 767, or 777 permission).

yes I have- they were very unhelpful and wouldn't entertain the thought that it could be their server config when it just happened out of the blue without an update in months? weird. might recommend they switch hosts
