    Hi apfotos,

Do you have any more information? e.g. Find where your PHP log is, and see what’s logged in there. One possibility is that your web hosting setup has insufficient memory available.

I have a VPS, and I’ve never had a problem like this before. I had to remove all installations, because I can’t have my sites come down – I can’t take that chance.

During the run, the backup stalled, and then the site came down. The host had to kill all the wpcron processes. I thought it was a one-time occurrence, but then it happened on another site, as well. The same thing. They had to kill all the wp cron processes.
I can’t run anything like that that will take up so much resources.

    Hi apfotos,

How much resources does your VPS have? This article may be relevant: http://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-much-resources-does-updraftplus-need/

    Hi apfotos,

Going through the updraftplus.com support desk, I can see that you’re a paid customer and have filed a ticket there. I will close this support forum thread now and respond to you there; the wordpress.org forum rules don’t allow use of their website for discussion of paid products: http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Commercial_Products

    Best wishes,
    David
