500 HTTP error in wp editor

I have multiple writers on my site and generally thing seem to be okay but one of my writers is reporting to me that they are unable to access most of the pages on the site and that the keep getting a 500 HTTP error.

I have been working with my host for a while to resolve the situation as it appeared to be a server related problem however they have been unable to resolve the situation. I’m not the most techy of people so below is the final report that the host has sent me which includes an extract from the sites error log. If anybody is able to advise a solution to the problem I am having it would be greatly appreciated.

I have tested the website this morning, and I am unable to replicate a visual fault, nor am I able to see any new occurrence of the error in the logs. As you will see below, the last occurrence of this error was yesterday, as detailed by my colleague :

Based on the lines above, which detail 3 days worth of errors, this particular issue happens almost exclusively within the 3 files as detailed above.

I recommend looking into what the three pages or particular lines in question are attempting to do when you see this error. We do not have anyone available at Fasthosts who can debug these WordPress scripts, however I have taken a very quick look, and my ‘guesstimate’ would be that these lines are attempting to store data as variables or retrieve data from a file or database.

In particular, class-wp-editor.php line 227 (see below) appears to be retrieving data from a particular file and storing it as a string. Without deciphering the whole script I am unable to say exactly which file this is attempting to read, but if the act of reading this data requires more memory than is allowed, this would certainly explain the errors you are seeing.
