opt out from "Notify me when new comments are added"

A poster on my blog has contacted me to say this:

“When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service?”

I’ve looked through my settings and dashboard and can’t see a way to view subscribed users or change settings. I wasnt even aware my blog had such a checkbox for commenters to subscribe with in the first place. Any ideas??

Hi grimep, what kind of comment plugin are you using? (DISQUS, etc.?)
There was a similar problem, but unfortunately it couldn’t be solved…

Hi, I’m not using a plug-in, its just the default WordPress settings.

I got this message today. It’s identical. There is no such checkbox on my site, and this is the very first comment from him/it. SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM eggs beans and SPAM.

When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added”
checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same
comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Thank you!

for this Plug in you don’t need to learn development and knowledge of any kind of coding.

Maybe he checked the “email me for comment notifications”.I often see that in reply forms ans when you click on it then you’re gonna get notifications everytime someone comments. I disable mine due to that. [removed signature]

It is a spam comment… I get them and ignore them. I would think there is an opt out to comply with spamm act when they get the message. If you really care why not try it yourself. Go subscribe and then go comment. Obviously with a free disposable account
Then you can see your Opt out choices if any?
