• This plugin recommends the end user installing a button or a highlighter to use with this. So what does the plugin itself do for the WordPress blog/site? If the reader needs a highlighter, what does the plugin do on its own? My readers aren’t going to install a highlighter just to have this function.

For example, in the instructions it says to add rooh.it/ to the beginning of any url to highlight text and tweet it instantly. To do this, one must have software installed. It doesn’t just magically work. 😛 So is this plugin a sitewide version for all readers of my blog, or is this to make it so I can tweet my own posts? Because tweeting one’s own posts is not “viral,” or anything original at all.

I admit I’m frustrated with the lack of clarity on this plugin’s page with detailing the difference between this plugin and the recommended software.

You have COMPLETELY MIS-REPRESENTED the facts: everything you said above is UNTRUE.

I shall try to address some of your lies:
1. No-one needs to install ANY software. ANYONE reading this, please go to http://rooh.it/yahoo.com without ANY SPECIAL SOFTWARE and go ahead and make your own highlights! :)
2. The plugin installs a highlighter on your website as a "sitewide version for all readers of your blog" so they can highlight and automatically tweet

If you did not understand anything perhaps you could have contacted support? Odd, how you did not take the trouble to write to Support BUT took the trouble to WRITE TWO BAD REVIEWS.

Are you employed by the competition to bad-mouth an excellent product?

Nope, I’m not. I found the enormous images of highligher pens objectionable, as well, and there was no warning that they’d appear once the plugin was activated. And there was no way to turn them off that I could find.

I don’t recall a second bad review.

In any case, this is my opinion based on my experience, and does not constitute fact. However, I’ve done my best to honestly relay my experience.

Oh wait, I see. This was a support request, and the OTHER post was the review. I should’ve looked closer. So in this case, I’ve asked about my perception of what the plugin page was describing. The bad review came later.

The Highlighter pen IS the plugin 🙂 and it is clearly demonstrated in the screen-shots at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/roohit-plugin/screenshots/

An apology of your obvious mis-statement about the facts would have definitely been the honorable thing to do at this time.

Regards.
