I am in the U.K. and in my admin section it says ' GMT time is: 2004-05-06 10:55:40 am'
The U.K. time is actually 11.55am.

Might simply be the Daylight Saving time thing...

Britain has moved to British summer time - GMT is always GMT whereas the UK uses both GMT and BST depending on the time of year
What we Brits would need to cope with the idiosyncracies of our clocks would be a "local" time. Automatically adjusted for GMT / BST would be ideal :-)
