• Is it save to add the analytics code into the footer or does it have to be in the head-tags do properly work?

I found a new plugin but judging from the comments it’s not working properly at the moment.

How would I go about adding it properly to my current website?

(which is down because my host didn’t start the DB this morning 0_o)

    Many thanks in advance 🙂

  • Google says that you have to add it in the head .

Add it in your header template before the </head>

Put in the header template as it says, it should work fine.

    The thing is I don’t have head-tags in my header.php 0_o

can I just add the <head></head> in there without causing any damage?

the way you have it is fine..
    <head>
    <script> etc...

thanks for moving to the right section and for the help 🙂

I hope it works now..however it still say it’s collecting data (since more then a day 0_o)

So does my analytics. I am not using the plugin, but mine isnt working.. msut be a google thing.

at the top of mine it says
Tracking has not been validated or added to one or more of your Website Profiles
Report data is not being gathered for one or more of your Website Profiles. Please review the Status column in the table below to discover which Website Profiles require action in order to add tracking for gathering report data.

    BUT

when I click on status, it says
    Waiting for Data
Analytics has been successfully installed and data is being gathered now. Your first reports will be ready within twelve hours.

and it has been about 24 hours for mine

    so I dunno…

took almost two days for mine to start working.
It is quite a bit behind with the data but it seems to work more or less..

The only thing is the content..I can’t see the different pages – I only see wordpress and the main site.
