• When posting to a fanpage, it seems to use random pictures from the post, almost always choosing a navigation link or some other completely unrelated image.
Posts to a profile page go without pictures at all.
If there is no way to choose which picture to include, there should at least be a way to turn off picture inclusion.
    Is there?

I have the same problem, it always picks the “purchase album” sticker image under the music player on the right hand side. Very frustrating, I am going to try adding a featured image to the post and see if that helps.

It didn’t work for me 🙁

I found this… maybe it helps you, it did shed light on my problem.

Nope, no help at all. In fact, just the opposite happens. I have quite large images in my posts and the navigation links are smaller than 100px in either direction. The one that shows up most is 48×25.
So I am actually confused even more as to why it chooses the tiny images and not the larger ones….

But thanks for posting that. Maybe I will scour their site and post my questions over there instead.

Sorry for not answering this post. Actually this is a Facebook API issue where they seem to pick up the image automatically and add to the post. I had opened a ticket with Facebook support but they closed it without providing any solution. I will reopen it again and let you know.

@saladgoat can i get link to your Facebook Page.

I am doing this on behalf of someone else.

No pictures are posting to the personal profile, pictures only show on the Fanpage:

Is there a way to make it post no picture? At least until you and FB can get things resolved?

I have been advised that RSS Graffiti also posts feeds to Facebook, but it always puts in the correct photo. Any idea why theirs “works” and yours doesn’t?

(Not trying to be a jerk, just thinking if you can look at theirs maybe it will help you fix yours.)
    Thanks!

I have sent the details to Facebook. I will personally try once again to find the issue.

@saladgoat its always waste of time talking with Facebook developers. And they have proven once again. Anyhow, according to them, adding random images that they deem to be fit is how they have designed the application.

So, the options here are – if you upgrade your Plugin to version 4.0, the images from posts should get picked up and get posted to Facebook as expected, till the time image size is 150px on each side. No need to worry about if it is there in the RSS feed. If that solves your problem, it will be great. Else i will have to use an old API method to publish this content. The issue is, we dont know when the old API method will be phased out. Also i am not too sure about the impact of using old API method on other users.

    Let me know.

It seems Facebook developers had a change of heart. They accept this is a bug. I have tested an alternative that works. Fix should be rolled out in next 1-2 days.

I am using version 4.0.0 and it posts pictures of 48×25 – nowhere near 150px.
I will look forward to your update 🙂
    Thanks for getting into this!
