The custom variables, company_url, company_name, ect don’t seem to be saving (title, content, and excerpt all save) when a testimonial is created, and also when you view the testimonials list the only thing it shows is the Title, the excerpt is blank, along with the company info (not saving so even if it is pulling from the correct spot, there is nothing to pull from, but I’m not sure)

    Thanks

    Hey Rj,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I am aware of a couple bugs involving the testimonials plugin but unfortunately I have not had a chance to correct them as of yet with the holidays rapidly coming up and trying to stay steady with work. Sadly it’s a pretty big bug and it’s on my priority list so I’ll try and get something out before Christmas but don’t hold me to it.

    Thanks,’

Hey Travis 🙂 Hope you’re really good out there 🙂

I just Googled and found this page – same problem for myself, thought it was something I’d done at my end 🙂 Glad you’re aware of it

    Cheers for now,

    Mark

    Hey Mark,

Things are good on my end! Hope that they are on yours as well. I hope to get to it soon but I’m finishing up a project today and then starting a new one tomorrow. Maybe after this next one I can get a bug fix out for you guys, we’ll see. Happy Holidays!

    Thanks,

Hey Mark, just thought I would let you know what I have been doing in the mean time, or for anyone else running into this temporary problem. The previous version of tbtestimonials does store the company name and website correctly, so I installed the old version, and then entered all of my testimonials, and then upgraded. the excerpt function doesn’t work, but the company name and website are stored from the previous version and the new version pulls the company name and website correctly, so you can still use those features.

Also Travis, I ran into the problem that tbtestimonials (newest version) was using/calling jquery cycle, which I am already using for another feature on the site. Calling this twice caused all of my jquery to crash. I thought it might be helpful to put a checkbox in the plugin options to turn off pulling the jquery cycle. I was able to dig into the code and comment it out, but for other users this may not be a possibility. Otherwise (if its not already there) you could put a little note in the documentation.

Thanks again for the great plugin travis, I cannot wait until it is all working in full, and I plan on sending you a donation for all of your work once the plugin is working in full.

Oh also, Rj, I added the option to disable cycle in this next release as well. Should help you out a little.

Hey Travis the plugin updates work great, thanks again. I have used many different testimonial plugins but this one is by far the best, and plan on using it again in the future, and would recommend it to anyone. I wanted to make a donation, when i click on the donation link here http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tb-testimonials/ it takes me to visit flordia parks http://www.visitfloridastateparks.com/donate/ is that where it is supposed to take me? Just want to make sure I have the right place to donate. Thanks again Travis!

    Hey Ryan,

Thanks for the kind words! I’ll do my best to try and keep it that way too! I do have another update coming out soon, just want to get some more stuff in there before I release it but it fixes a bug with the media uploader so if you encounter that before the next update, let me know and I will send you the bug fixes.

The donate link is correct or you can click the donate button on the documentation page of the plugin. It’ll say you donated to Pam Avila but don’t worry, that’s my girlfriend.

Also I really appreciate the donation. Definitely helps to encourage future development and features.

    Thanks,

    Hi Travis

Yet another great release, thank you. Really pleased you got the company thing fixed as I needed it for yet another website I’m using this plugin on 🙂

You know, I hadn’t used the widget before – but it’s SO simple! I actually wanted to insert the widget on a PHP page design, and with a few steps, added my own new sidebar, added your widget to it, and called that new sidebar from the php – took about 8 minutes to code up and worked great.

Got a quick idea for you Travis – does the widget (if you check cycle through all) grab ALL testimonial entries and just hide/show the LI’s ? Would it be difficult to grab the first 3 only, and then the next by AJAX? I spend a lot of time optimising page load, and if there are 50 testimonials and the visitor only stays on the page to see one of them, then it’s a slow load. I might have misunderstood the code, so correct me if I’ve got it wrong 🙂

    Thanks again Travis,

    Mark

    Hey Mark!

Glad to hear you love the widget! You understood the code correctly, it does output them all and then hides the li’s that come in during the animation. I think that having the ability to load the comment slides via ajax would be a good addition for sure. I’ll add it to the list of updates.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Travis
