Successfully upgraded from 302 to 303 yesterday, but one of my plugins is not operating as it was under the previous installation.

Before I just jump in and reload a version of 3.0.2, will my site remain intact? In other words will I retain my theme, plugins et all?

Is there a recommended procedure for rollback?

    Thanks!

  • What plugin are you having problems with? If it’s just one plugin there may be a simple fix. However I have never had any problems downgrading WP personally.

Just make a proper back of your SQL file and just to be safe export your wordpress data using the export feature.

    Having a problem with s2member.
I had it working just fine under 3.0.2, but ever since installing 3.0.3 there is one feature that doesn’t operate correctly. Specifically, the feature that redirects a subscriber to a replacement profile modification page. It now dumps me back to my home page.

To see what I’m talking about, just create a free membership at: http://lprestoration.com

After you receive a confirmation email with your automatically assigned password, login. You’ll be presented with a page with a link, which if clicked, should bring you to a modify profile window. It used to work, but now it dumps me back to my home index page.

I am not to familiar with that one myself. However I would recommend that you post a support request on the S2member plugin forum.

However since you may have to wait a few days to get this plugin fixed, you should be able to rollback without any problems to earlier version. I just did it a few hours ago myself.

All you need to do is overwrite the files with the older version using FTP from the WP archives. Just make sure you backup your database just in case!

    Good luck

    Fixed!

It wasn’t a problem with either s2member or wp303. Rather, there seems to be a conflict between s2member and W3 Total Cache. I discovered that by deactivating W3, the custom redirect for member profile modification worked flawlessly.

I removed W3 and installed wp-supercache, and all is now well.

Good to hear that. Thanks for sharing.
