  • This plug-in, which is awesome, will not auto-install from the plugin control panel when using/after upgrading to WP3.0.2. My experience (70+ WP sites) suggests the problem is with WP3.0.2, not the WP-insert plugin. In any event, it is dis-ingenious [sic] of WordPress to issue a mandatory up-grade that obviously has not been thoroughly tested (it has other issues) and without adequate explanations as to why. The more WP grows, the less likable it is…

    Is this affecting other plugins?

The Plugin has noting to do with the installation or it faliure thereof..Its wordpress which downloads and unzips and then activate the plugin zip files from the repository..

I have tried installing wp-insert as well as other plugins in WP 3.0.2 yesterday and found n hiccups..May be its not compatible with some servers. But it should have something to do with your particular server setup or the installation script is timing out or running out of memory..

    NJ,
I thought my comment adequately stated the problem as being WP3.0.2 not your wonderful plug-in. Since my post I have found problems with other plug-ins (LBAK User Tracker, for example; it is apparently not compatible, neither 1.7.5 nor 1.7.6). Manual upload of plugins works better but is not always fruitful. Doing a complete re-install of the mandatory version does not seem to fix the glitches (hiccups, as you call them). I have seen numerous (other columns/blogs) comments about memory as being the root of WP install problems; that has never been true for my encounters. Thanks for your thoughts.

By way of an FTP error, I discovered that if one installs WP 3.0.2 in four manual uploads, the three individual subfolders separately to the domain file followed by a separate upload of the admin files, WP3.0.2 performs more admirably. Still less than perfect.

Is removal of wp-insert from the search results in any way connected to this post?

The title of the post is very misleading but the author has explicitly stated that he is mentioning about an issue with WP 3.0.2 and not Wp-Insert.

I am currently being flooded with support emails. If the blackout is in anyway related to this post please do everything necessary to put back the plugin online.
