• One day it was working, and another day it wasn’t. A publically-accessible page with the malfunction is on http://sj.foodsci.info/?page_id=4792

Is there an upper limit as to the number of hits to be displayed on visitor-maps? It was getting close to 10,000 visits at the time of the break.

  • 90 days is a setting you have set in options. Visitors details older than 90 days are deleted and the visitor number could increase or decrease depending on traffic flow. This is not a hit counter.

I don’t think you understand. What I mean is that the plugin itself vanished from my web page after four months or so with the 90-day setting. I’m not worried about the number of hits. When I set it to 60 days, it re-appeared back on my web pages. It looks like the plugin crashes if there are more than 10,000 visits within the time period.

I’ve had it set to 30 days and still a no show on the page i want the map displayed on. The site i’ve made is for a client that has constant views. I’m not going to disable all my clients plugins to see if it works. It worked on wordpress version 3.0.1 and 3.0.2 but not the newer versions. Just letting you know…it still doesn’t work.

Works fine on my site 3.0.4:
    http://www.fastsecurecontactform.com/visitors

pepita96 did you add the shortcode to the page?
and add the widget to the sidebar?

I need a URL to your site if you need help.

Hi Mike. The blog is stylistakt.com and i’ve not tried the sidebar, but it just posts a blank page when I add it to a page [visitor-maps]. I had it on the live calendar page and it disappeared. Even if I create a new page and preview it with the shortcode it shows up as a blank page. I appreciate your help. I didn’t think you would respond so fast.

    Thanks

    Maybe another plugin is conflicting.
Look on the Admin – Plugins – menu.
Temporarily Disable (not uninstall) all your other plugins.
Does it work now? If yes, Activate the plugins one by one to determine
which one conflicts. Which plugin was causing it?

blank page could be a PHP error

Your server might have PHP error display turned off so it does not show what the error says, that is why the white page.
Do you have PHP error logs? Look and see what the error says.
You can also try this temporarily to possibly see the error.

Edit the wp-config.php file and add this line:
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);

Be sure to remove it later when done testing as some poorly written
plugins and themes will display warnings that are not really hard errors just warnings. BTW I program my plugins well enough that there should be no errors or warnings.

Let me know what you find.

Thanks Mike. I will troubleshoot the issue and useyour php line and let you know what comes of it.
