• I have an image in my header that is not displaying. If I click on view image I get a 404 page in essence so I think that somehow it is rewriting the .gif url to treat is as a page. Make any sense?

No I didn’t solve anything — I wait for suggestions.

Don’t know which image you’re referring to cause there’s only one <img> tag, for the banner, in your header.

Don’t know what site you may be looking at … as I never gave the site name. 🙂 On the site I am working on which is not public the image does not display in the header. The url/image link appears to be correct and the image is uploaded, case matches on file name, etc. etc. and if you view image you get the 404 page leading me to believe that it is attempting to “url/pagifiy” the image url.

I am not trying to be difficult but this page is not public at this time so I did not give an url but rather attempted to describe the issue.

You said “an image in my header” so I assumed the site linked in your profile is the one in question.

Have you tried deactivating plugins and reverting back to default theme?

    Have you checked your .htaccess?

WordPress doesn’t rewrite URLs with filename extension by default.
