• I’m using the latest version of the Recent Links plugin and recently I have started getting an error on the “Add Recent Link” page. I can’t figure out for the life of me what the problem is, and how it began… I contacted the author but he said it didn’t have to do with the plugin itself.

The error stated is the following:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/.lansbury/sangoulv/angoulvant.net/sblog/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1739

There are no new active plugins that could cause an incompatibility…

    Any ideas?

  • i’m having this same problem and would love some help on it!

    Maybe this topic helps?

Thanks for the reply Nazgul. I tried that fix of moving the rewrite rule to the top of the htaccess file, but no luck. It was pretty much already there anyway.

Anyway, the trouble I am having – to be more specific – is that when I access the /path/to/wordpress/wp-admin/recent-links.php page, I get the following error repeated three times in a row before the admin page itself loads up:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /path/to/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2117

From that page I am able to delete old links, but not to add new links. When you add a new link and the page reloads, new blank entries show up that are marked “no” under the visible column.

Any help would be great! Will look around for other solutions in the meantime and try to direct the author here for help.

PS. Just to clarify, I am using WP 2.0.2 with the following active plugins:

    – Akismet
    – BDP RSS Aggregator
    – Filosofo Enroll Comments
    – Get Recent Comments
    – Random Posts
    – Ultimate Tag Warrior
    – WP-ContactForm

Hello kepano, TimBoucher. I tried looking into this problem but could not reproduce it at all. Technically, the plugin should not interfere with anything on the WP side.

I’d really appreciate it if you could try accessing the “Add Recent Links” page with all your plugins turned off, just to check if the error still exists.

By the way, wp-recent-links is now at version 2.06, though the recent changes had nothing to do with the bugs you mentioned.

Feel free to contact me personally regarding this.

I am also getting the error message:

PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /Library/WebServer/Documents/marialanger/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2117

It appears in my Apache error log.

I updated to PHP 5.1.4 (?), which has error reporting turned off by default. I turned error reporting on to troubleshoot another problem and saw this message. When I turn it back off, the site works fine but the message still appears in my log.

I am not using the Recent Links plugin, although I am using a bunch of others. I did not just install a plugin when the problem started; all I did was update to the new PHP — and that was so I could get captcha support.

I hope this helps shed some light on kepano’s problem. I’d like a fix; I don’t like error messages, even if they’re not in your face.
