  • I have the submenu for Media under settings set right for the path to upload images, but when I go to upload under media, add new, it wants to go to a different path than the one I set up. How do i change this path to the correct one?

In what way? How do you know it’s trying to upload to the wrong folder?

http://4georgiabankruptcy.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads is the path I want for the uploads of new media, as set in the settings>media page. “The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/georgia/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/uploads.” is the error message I get when I try to upload on the media>add new page. Two different paths.

The wordpress file is not in the georgia folder on the server – I don’t know how or why it is insisting that the media is supposed to go there.

What am I missing in routing the uploads to the right path?

Ok, so I have the wrong terminology. The problem remains, the media uploader wants to upload to the wrong URL. How do i get it to the correct URL?

Change the path in Settings -> Media to wp-content/uploads

The problem is, again, that the path to the correct URL is set correctly in the settings – media area, but it is showing up incorrectly in the library area when I go to upload to the library.

There’s a disconnect here between the path I’m telling it to go, and the path it’s taking. This is why I’m trying to get help. Can you or someone who knows please help me?

The wordpress file is not in the georgia folder on the server

Well your site is showing at http://4georgiabankruptcy.com/wordpress/

Yes, there is a georgia folder on the server, which is NOT where the wordpress site is. Yet, the library wants to upload to the georgia folder. Thus the complication!

DO you see my problem yet? How can I make this more clear to you? I have the wordpress files in one location, the media setting set to that same location, yet the library is pointing to a different location. So it has problems uploading files to that spot since WordPress ISN”T there!

How can I get the library to understand it’s pointing in the wrong direction?

Where is WordPress now? Have you moved since it was installed on the site?

http://4georgiabankruptcy.com/wordpress is where wordpress is and where it was installed initially. It was never in the georgia folder.

Looks like your server is configured to use /home/georgia/public_html for the document root of 4georgiabankruptcy.com.

Yes, that IS the problem. But what is the solution? If the path in the Settings > Media is correct, but this is the server config, how do i change it????

I think the change needs to be made at a server level. Have you spoken to your hosts?
