Calendar widget for custom post types?

Is there a calendar widget that shows existing custom post types, the way the built-in calendar shows posts? Seems like a pretty basic function, but I’ve tried every calendar and event plugin I could find… no dice.

Related: my dream calendar would be something like a working version of Ajax Calendar, that only displayed posts from an “events” custom post type. Is this harder than it sounds?
