Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?
– increasing the memory available to PHP?

Yes, the 2010 theme is the one that causes problems – the old version by wordpress, Weaver 1.1, shows the widgets (but is not what we want to use).
I don’t know how to re-upload anything and am nervous I’ll lose all my settings. (The most frustrating kind of forum visitor).
This is so weird – none of the other people who are using 2010 have mentioned this problem, and I don’t have anything elaborate on my website that would cause the widgets not to show up. Could it be a problem with my static page?
Could it be a problem with my static page?
Unlikely. from what I recall, the theme was recently updated, so you might want to try contacting the theme developer.
