• The search box should always remain at the top of the page. When you go to a page or post, and finish your action, you should be able to search for the next page or post to modify right on that page. You should NOT have to go back to all pages or all posts to get the search box to pop up.

    This will greatly improve productivity.

    Thanks!

Are you talking for the front end (like what a user sees) or something from the backend?

If it’s the former, that’s up to your theme. Mine shows a search box on every page at the top.

Backend. When your in a post… If we had the ability to modify the post, and then search for the next post, page, etc right away at the top it would speed up everything. As of now you have to go back to (posts) and then search. You should not have to go back to search for the next post page etc…

That’s an interesting workflow. Why are you going back and editing old posts so often?

I agree the search it is vital to keep the search up at all times. It is such a pain to have to search for the search. How to you set that up on the backend? I would like to be able to modify a post.

hi screeninnovations, I was scanning feedback posts before I post a request and saw yours and If I understand your workflow, may I suggest the following.

Basically, open the post-edit in a new tab of your browser (hold ctrl-key) while clicking link on main Post List page (with the search box) and it will open post-edit in new tab. You can edit away and always just switch tabs to main Post List, search for another post and even open that one in another new tab. Then close theses post-edit tabs as you are done when them. sometimes, I have multi-edits open as I reference short-code in other post and have some common elements to posts

This avoids always going ‘back’ and having WP regen all that content. You can increase your backend efficiency many fold with this technique!!

(different browsers may handle new tabs differently and you can tweak behavior. most support the ctrl-click, but you can also right-click link and select open in new tab)

this tip is not limited to wordpress – myDeviceIP
