• I have uploaded all WordPress files to a subdirectory and performed the installation.
The appeared to work without error – I got the ‘finished’ message with no warnings or errors.
When I try to view the blog at
    http://blog.ilanamercer.com
I only see a warning and a fatal error message (copied below)

Warning: main(./wp-blog-header.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in E:\sites\vhosts\ilanamercer.com\subdomains\blog\httpdocs\Index.php on line 4

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘./wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.;./includes;./pear’) in E:\sites\vhosts\ilanamercer.com\subdomains\blog\httpdocs\Index.php on line 4

    What has gone wrong here?
    Help most welcome.

It looks like you don’t have a wp-blog-header.php file. it should be in the same directory as wp-feed.php. If you can’t find up, download WordPress again and upload a new copy of the file.

    Hi
I can see both wp-feed.php and wp-blog-header.php in the same directory in my installation.
I have also just downloaded the latest WordPress zip file and replaced the wp-blog-header.php file with the new one.

I still have the same errors.

    Sincerely

    Sean

OK, let’s give it a try:

    o) Check for upper- and lowercase letters in your path (though it shouldn’t matter on Windows-machines)

    o) your Index.php has an uppercase-“i” which is lowercase IMHO in the standard-installation

    o) maybe using forward-slashes might help. Had some issues with that when installing a webmail-script a few months ago. But this might depend on the way, PHP is installed/executed on that machine.

regarding the forward-slashes: this probably means that you need to re-install WordPress!
