Do you have WordPress v1.5.2?

When you edit a post, you should be able to see a list of all of the successful pings. And, the entire pinging process has been completely separated from the posting process, so it should not cause any timeouts. Have you tried disabling all of your active plugins? Perhaps one of them is conflicting with the posting process.

I don’t see that anywhere.

Oh and I think it times out when publishing because of slow or dead ping servers no?
I would also be interested in this. I’ve spent a lot of time watching the various weblog update services and have never ever seen my blog show up.
macmanx, can you explain what you meant by seeing a list of successful pings on the edit page? I can’t find that anywhere in wordpress. I’m using the latest release.
Thanks 🙂

The Second part of your problem I believe can be solved by nopingwait plugin – I installed it on my site and instant posting, no timeouts – I have a very long ping list.
