Is WordPress a solution for a video-heavy database site?
-
I am trying to coax programmers to put together a content rich tourism site which features videos(hosted on our own server) on most pages. Pages without video would have a photo instead. Visitors could search by location or topic.
I cannot code myself so have recently started using WordPress for some simple sites. I have been amazed by its potential but it is making me wonder if I am paying for people to “reinvent the wheel”. They seem to be PHP coding everything from scratch which is a painfully slow and expensive process.
Is WordPress powerful, stable and advanced enough to create the site I am describing? I realise it would need customizing for my purposes. Is Joomla or Drupal a better solution? Any independent guidance would be greatly appreciated.
