[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] network activated issues

hi, i have set up a multiste install and want to have nextgen gallery as the default gallery but after a new member of my site creates a new blog there’s a message on their dashboard telling to them to update nextgen database table and to “click here to proceed” . on clicking nothing happens and the nextgen plugin isn’t even listed…

very confused and slightly frustrated! any help you could supply would be great.
