Nothing is actually run on your server. The plugin sends the image’s URL to Yahoo! and processes it over there.

The ‘local file’ message you’re getting is because your server address is 127.0.0.1 — Yahoo! won’t be able to access your file.

I running my WEB server with front-end.
How can I fix this problem?
Why “WP Smush.it” dont use the URL insted of real IP?

I have Nginx running the front end, and Apache running on the back end. I suspect Smush.it is only detecting the 127.0.0.1 address, rather than the routable IP address for the server itself. It seems there should be an additional check in the script.
