Displaying Categories, Links & Authors on Pages

Hello,

I apologize if this has been asked – my search turned up nothing.

Is there any way to display the list of authors, and the list of links, and the list of categories on a page? I tried pasting the code that does that from the sidebar into a page, but you can just see the code itself when you look at the page. Am I doing something wrong?
