Suddenly none of the images on my site work. Visits to the URL for any image, including my site logo or my theme background, redirect to the homepage.

    1. I set image permissions to 755 and 777. No luck.
    2. Images on other blogs on my server work.
    3. I don’t have a .htaccess file set up and cPanel hotlink protection is disabled.
    4. Changing themes didn’t change anything.
    5. Images in the admin panel won’t load, either.

Any idea what could be causing this and how I could fix the issue?

EDIT- Issue fixed. For some reason the cPanel file manager was “hiding” my .htaccess. I enabled the viewing of “dotted” files and it turns out I do have a .htaccess. I set up a dodgy rewrite rule some time ago.

  • That sounds like a permissions problem (folders – not files). Have you tried contacting your hosts?
