Simple event listing using custom fields, need to add recurring events

Thanks for reading. I’ve implemented the simple event listing as described in Michael Martin’s post below.

However I have a need for recurring events. Optimally I would have the day of the week say Wednesday added to the Date field and the script and the post would repeat itself each Wednesday based on the date.

Is this something which could be accomplished easily? Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks again!
