Questions on altering theme

I am new to heavy modifying of WordPress themes. Can someone take a look at my site and give me some insight on how to change a couple of things?

First of all, the side menu has two items; Inward and Outward. I cannot find out how to modify the graphical design of these as well as changing the word ‘Inward’ to something else.
Also, the menu items at the top of the page is also a mystery. I can add menu items via the Pages function of my dashboard, but I cannot delete other menu items that previously existed such as ‘Site Admin’ and ‘Main’.

I understand that the Appearance tab and editing the code in the Editor is most likely the way to alter these things, but I’ve been through much of the code and cannot find out how to do so through the php or css. Am I stuck with these objects in this theme or can I modify them?
