My blog is blank; I can't access the admin console; I can see the files in FTP

    This is my site: http://www.cyclinginottawa.ca.

    The problems with the site are that when I go to that page, there is no content on it. Additionally, when I go to the admin console login page, it is blank.

    Troubleshooting steps that I have tried:

    • I tried removing the plugins folder to see if that allowed one to log into the admin console because it was described elsewhere on the wordpress forum as a possible solution to our symptoms. It didn’t work.
    • I tried checking the config pages to make sure that there weren’t extra lines at the bottom as illustrated on this blog. I think that I looked at the right files and there aren’t any blank lines or extraneous characters at the end of the files.
    • I tried removing the theme that I use. That made no difference.

    What is the easiest way to get my site back?

    Try switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    I tried that; it didn’t make anything work.
