Hi Everyone… newbie here. I’ve tried to decipher previous posts on this topic but haven’t had much luck. Can you help?

I have followed directions to install MAMP and WordPress on my mac. All has gone perfect except for the very last instruction:

“Lastly, we’ve got to run WordPress’ famous 5-minute install. Visit your local site (localhost:port or localhost:port/wordpress), and enter the following information into the database setup form:

    database name: wordpress
    database host/server: localhost
    database user: root
    database password: root”

I have entered my localhost:8888/… etc. to get to this spot and I get a File Not Found 404 error. The “open start page” brings me to this: http://localhost:8888/MAMP/?language=English

From there I don’t see any other place for accessing the aforementioned “database setup form”. I don’t see it from within the PHPMyAdmin link, nor can I seem to find it anywhere else! Am I missing some steps? Thank you!

Localhost problem not solved, but installed on new remote host server and access is fine. Will go from here. Thanks.
