I’m not sure what exactly does that mean, But go to your domain’s home page or the directory you have installed wordpress… Now you should see wordpress installed with all the default theme and settings.
Now append “/wp-admin/” at the end of the page URL, and that should take you to the admin panel.
Is your site properly pointed to the new location? Check with your host what your NameServers should be and make sure they, and your A record, are both pointed properly.
4. In the BlueHost Simplescripts, under my installs, I see my URL with wordpress. I click on Admin Login and am taken back to wordpress.com.
Ahh 🙂 You missed a step.
You have to tell your domain to stop pointing to WordPress.com
Remember this part? “registered a domain name and have mapped to this. all works perfectly”
You have to go BACK there and re-map it to BlueHost.
Hi All, thanks so much for helping with this.
Tried all suggestions but to no avail. (I am assuming administering using wordpress.org looks different to wordpress.com – maybe I’m wrong)
I set my URL mapping to BlueHost, rather than to wordpress.com – my Primary NS as 74.220.195.31, ns1.bluehost.com and my Secondary NS1 as 69.89.16.4, ns2.bluehost.com. IS THIS CORRECT?
To be certain, I removed WordPress from My Installs at BlueHost (through SimpleScripts), tested accessing my site – worked fine; tested logging into my site using my normal wordpress.com username and editing – worked fine.
I then logged out of wordpress.com, and re-installed WordPress 3.0.1 using SimpleScripts in BlueHost to my web site (http://ecology.edu.au) – All good.
Received the following message confirming WordPress 3.0.1 install:

Login URL: http://ecology.edu.au/wp-admin
Username: admin
Password: xxxxxxxx

Immediately clicked on the Login URL above, using the sign-on and password above (both typed and copied), but was told they were incorrect. Noted that the login screen was still going to wordpress.com.
I’ve tried obvious things like refreshing screens, logging right out of things and back in etc.
Apologies for being so dumb about this! There appears to be a hook somewhere that is not correct, but I cannot work out where.
You don’t need to uninstall wordpress…
The issue isn’t wordpress, see, it’s DNS. Which can take 24-72 hours to resync to the new location. The DNS is what’s pointing your Domain to a specific name server. You have to give it some time. Usually it’s just a couple hours.
And I have no idea if those are the right name servers. I don’t use bluehost. If they’re the servers bluehost told you to use, you’re good.
