I found something odd in my blog’s statistics:

    August 28, 2010 14:04:14 92.243.84.187 0 ru type=file&folder= Windows ME Internet Explorer 6

A quick search revealed that it is a hacking attempt. I looked at my logs and the request resulted in 404, and I dont’ see any strange files on my server, nor anything injected in PHP files. I’m assuming I’m not affected, but I can’t find any specific information as to whether this attacks specific versions of WordPress. I’m running 3.0.1 and had the TinyMCE Advanced plugin activated (I deactivated, since TinyMCE is mentioned in the reference I found).

Should I be worried, is this a known exploit? Thanks for any help!

You’ll be fine as long you’re running the latest version of WordPress.

Thank you for your reply. 🙂

So I can reactivate TinyMCE Advanced, since I’m running the latest WP version?

Keep in mind that plugins can always have their own security vulnerabilities. It should be safe, but don’t quote me on that.

    Oh, I understand, no worries.
