unable to change slug "used by another term"

    I wish to create a category with slug “flow-breathing” but WP says slug being used by another term, and insists on “flow-breathing-2”

    I had used this phrase a few times in post tags. I deleted all tags w this slug from posts. Some titles contain the phrase with other words such as flow-breathing-breath-technique”.

    Why am I not allowed to rename the slug?

    Go to the Posts and the Pages areas of your admin panel and check the Trash section in each. If you find a Post or Page with flow-breathing as the slug, delete it permanently, or just empty the trash.

    There are no posts with that tag or slug in trash or drafts.

    Can you use phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel) to search your database for flow-breathing and see what comes up?

    Thanks James. Found the lingering data and deleted it. That did the trick!!
