[Plugin: Contact Form 7] how to size file upload fields

No matter how I tried I cannot modify the width of a file upload area.

In Contact Form 7 there is no way to define it, like for example with “60/”.

I tried CSS but width: 300px; does not work on input { }.

How do you change the size of a file input field? HTML does support size value, but CF7 doesn’t handle it. Any solution?

You can style them with CSS.

How? input { width: 300px; } does not work.

I tried CSS width, and it works with the submit button, but not with the upload fields. If I manually enter size = 60 with Firebug into the HTML, it works, but there is no way to do that.

A size/ support for would be ideal for upload fields.

Hmm… I may be wrong. It seems that some browsers including Firefox ignore width property of file upload fields. I’d consider adding size option to [file] tag.

I’ve just implemented this in the development version. You can download it from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/contact-form-7/download/ (“Development Version” at the bottom of the list)

Now you can specify the size option like this:

[file your-file 60/]

Thank you Takayuki, now it works really well! You might need to write documentation and do the GUI for it, but for me it’s fantastic even now!
