Pinging for a single post

I’m wondering if there’s a way that I can ping a service (specifically audio.weblogs.com and ping.ipodder.org) for individual posts as opposed to every post mad on my blog.

Since I make both regular posts and podcast posts from the same blog, I don’t really want to ping those services every single time I make an entry. I’d also rather not do it manually by going to the sites and filling out the forms. If there’s a way to ping specific services when a post is within a particular category, that would probably be the best.
