I want to be able to constantly add new videos to my blog, from the websites supported by the Simple Video Embedder (through oEmbed). For this I always have to set a “featured image” which I have to get from the respective video websites. From several websites you can get the thumbnail by doing something like http://img.youtube.com/vi/Z19zFlPah-o/0.jpg
I think this way is for every website different though, and I was wondering whether oEmbed has a universal way of getting the video thumbnail.
Does anybody know of a simply uniform way to get the default (preferable large) thumbnail image for videos from all the supported sites?
I love this plugin but would also like to know if the plugin has the ability to subtract a thumbnail of the video and then attach to the post for use as a site thumbnail or custom field elsewhere.
A lot of other YouTube Wordpres plugins create thumbnails of the videos so I believe it can be done.
Thanks in advance
