How do I give newly registered people automatic comment edit access?

I have Eviscerati.org set up so that you’re required to register in order to post. When you register, you start out at level 0, apparently — this gives you post access. But you need to be promoted to level 1 before you can edit your posts.

I would like to be able to set up registration so that newly registered readers can automatically edit their own posts. I don’t want them to be able to submit articles, or anything like that — just be able to edit their own posts. Is there any way to do this? There doesn’t *seem* to be a setting in the admin panel that gives you that level of control…
