Using Categories but still is “uncategorized”

    Alright my categories are defined by contributors. For some reason my contributors (categories) show up as “uncategorized” on the blog, even though they checked their names on the “write” page.

    This all happened after I deleted a category known as “political updates” which may have been the defauly category.

    PLEASE HELP.

    I doubt you could delete the default category: WP doesn’t let you do that.
    Q: were not, by any chance, those contributor categories subcategories of the deleted category?

    I’ve deleted all of the categories in an attempt to rectify the problem, so I’m thinking it may be a problem with the new plugin I installed called a “miniblog”.

    Whenever you suspect a plugin causing problems – deactivate it and check if everything works as it should.

    Thank you so much. I just did what u said….It was the plugin! Darnit! Anyways I did some searching and found a version of the plugin that doesn’t cause the problem..
