• I am using WP-Polls on WordPress 3.0.1 and apparently it works until someone votes. Then it just shows a results page in the sidebar with one vote on it, regardless of who signs in. I’ve tried logging in as different users to see if they have an opportunity to vote, but everytime once anyone votes, it just displays results with one vote and no one else can vote. I’ve checked settings and tried several tests and it won’t work. HELP!

  • SweetGuitar7,

Do you have a link to the problem page?

I’ve had the same problem, and I think that it is due to the poll only allowing one vote per ip. How do we adjust these settings, as I’d like to use a poll usable by staff?

Hey there – I’m having the same problem. I wrote Lester Chan, the author, and his polls are working fine.

I believe that cindy is correct. Currently, the blog I’m developing is on our development server, and only people on a certain IP address can view the site. When we go live to production tomorrow, I’ll know for sure! 😉 I’ll try to remember to write back if I do learn anything.

Actually, this can be fixed from the settings. First, ensure that you use WP-Poll 2.50

    1. Log in to your WP (with admin rights)
    2. Assuming you have activated the WP-Poll plugins, go to Polls -> Poll Options
    3. Go to the section where it says “Logging Method”. In here you can find a few options to choose from
    – Do not log
    – Logged by Cookie
    – Logged by IP
    – Logged by IP and Cookie
    – Logged by Username

To solve the issue you face, select “Logged by Cookie”or other options according to your wish and it should work.
