  • Hi,
I am having a few problems uploading audio to my wordpress media library.
I am recieving the following error message:
“04 song.m4a” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory /home/daysaren/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
I believe all of my files are set up to be writeable by the server.
Can anyone advise me on the what the problem could be?
    Thanks

  • Change the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

    hi esmi,
Thanks, I have chaged them all so they are all writeable and it is still giving me the same message. My permissions are at 777.
    Thanks anyway, any other suggestions?

Can you try setting the permissions on the wp-content/uploads folder to 777?
