• Hello all, hoping someone can help with this little snaggle I’m working on.

I would like to list future posts (events) on the sidebar / a widget, and I’ve got the Future Is Now plug-in which does just that, and it’s working fine.

But, as a consequence, it also pulls the future posts into the main loop, which I would not like to happen. Especially if I start future-dating a bunch of events.

So I’m not a wiz with the PHP, but I would think that the simplest solution would be to keep the plugin, and add back in a snippet of code to the front page saying to disregard future posts in the loop… But keeping the plug-ins functionality in the sidebar.

And allowing the events to appear in the loop once they’re current.

I would know how to exclude the specific category, if I wanted a “future” category, but I would ideally like to have both future and current posts in the same categories. So any help is appreciated.

I have a similar question. I’d like to exclude some posts from the main loop, but have them posted and available to readers otherwise–e.g. on a category search, or in a sidebar that aggregates.

Is there a way to exclude a post from the main loop but post it, other than just making the post date significantly in the past to hide it from the main page?
