Bulk Edit Merges Categories

    When I try to bulk-edit two or more posts, their respective categories are merged and added to ALL bulk-edited posts, even when ‘No Change’ is selected (or left alone). I want to open up comments on ALL posts, but the categories will all be added to every bulk-edited post, unless I edit the posts, individually.

    If you change the categories during the bulk edit (because you’re selecting categories for all the posts you selected to edit), then yes that does happen, if you leave the categories alone they don’t “merge” as you put it, or at least not in my 3.0 installation which i’ve just tested the bulk edit on.

    OK…looks like I found the problem. I’m using the Admin Management Xtended plugin. I deactivated that and the problem goes away.

    Nice find, you may also wish to consider reporting the bug to the plugin author by way of a thread here.
