Placing sidebar within the_content

Problem: I want to place specific content within the_content. More specifically, I want to place a div that contains recent posts links.

I would like the div to appear floated to the right of the third paragraph of the_content.

I think there might be an HTML work around in the template files (this is all happening in single.php) but I’m not sure.
