Add Custom Fields To “Write” Page

I currently want to add a custom field to my “write post” page to allow authors to put an “advertisement” below the article. Using HTML is a problem because there’s no way to enforce any rules, nor position the ad the way I want.

Is there a way to add a custom field to the write page and give it a variable so that I can customize its output in the template?
