• I keep having problems with inserting line breaks into posts and pages. Sometimes when formatting text, pressing enter works fine. But sometimes when I publish the page, it doesn’t show the line breaks, everything is still bunched together.

I sometimes try pressing enter 5 times but that still doesn’t help. I also try to use
which works to space some things but it doesn’t always have an effect.

What exactly am I missing? Why can’t WordPress see whenever I’ve left a space and show that on the post when it’s published?

  • This is one of the most frustrating feature in WordPress. It has been there since at least version 2.6 and is still around. It doesn’t exist in all installations but when it does – it’s impossible to get rid of it. There’s lots of write-ups on this on the Web.

I circumvent this problem by installing the Dean’s FCK Editor on all WordPress blogs that I manage. THe problem does not exist in this plugin and it offers a bunch of editing features that the default WordPress Editor does not provide.

    Try it out:

It’s in French but click on TRANSLATE at the left-hand bottom of the page and it’s pretty good.

    Thankyou very much.

That has fixed it and I’m able to format my pages perfectly. Also the editor is so much better. I love that I can control the fonts and everything easily. This is definitely going to be a plugin I install on every WordPress installation I do 🙂

    Thanks for your help.
