Importing old database (3 posts)

Where is the sql database stored on a word press blog? I downloaded my public_html folder before my ISP destroyed my blog. They removed fantastico and my database. After complaining, they restored fantastico and I created a new database and have dropped the tables so I can import my old database. Is the sql database in the public_html folder or somewhere else? I'm just not seeing it. I would like to use cpanel in phpadmin to link to the file I downloaded.

The database is in... er, the database. Not in the public_html folder, definitely. If the host "destroyed" your blog, meaning "removed your database" - that's the end of the story. Sorry. It's gone.

Oh. Clearly I'm an idiot! :) Oops.

    I'm still learning.

So to keep this from happening again, if I export my database in my phpadmin, it dumps it little box that I can copy and paste into a notepad document. Do I need to do more to export my database? In other words, is what I've done sufficient to restore my blog's database if it gets destroyed again? Or do I need to actually download something and hints as to how to do that?
