Interesting question. If you’ve put a new First and Last name into your profile, and then selected the new “First Last” (so to speak) from the dropdown menu, you should be good to go.
But if you already did that, I’m wondering… maybe it will only give your new name on comments from this time forward. I use WP every day, yet I don’t know if that’s true or not! I would try putting in your own new comment to test that.
If that is the case, then unfortunately, you’ll need to edit your comments to get the new name on them. You could also get fancy and run some MySQL queries if your hosting account allows that, but that’s more tricky. There also may possibly be a plugin for that, but I didn’t find one.

For the option “Display name publicly as…” I had chosen “Linda” from the drop down menu. But you are right! It doesn’t work retroactively but it does work going forward. It’s now displaying as “Linda”. Many thanks.

I’ve changed my profile settings and specified that I’d like to be addressed as Linda, not admin, in Comments, but Comments is still pulling admin. Do I need to add a new user (I hope not) or is there a simpler way?
